Giant equipment move will restrict Sask. highways

The biggest piece of equipment to ever be moved on Saskatchewan highways starts its journey on Monday.
Two evaporator units are being shipped from the Babcock and Wilcox plant in Melville; each unit is 98’ 7.3” long, 34’ 8.3” wide, 36’ 0.3” high and weighs 208,617 kilograms.
The evaporators are being moved to the K+S mine site being developed near Bethune. They left Melville at 7 a.m. Monday, travelling on Highway 15 towards Raymore. On Tuesday, the plan is for the evaporators to finish the trip, heading south on Highway 2 to Highway 11 before arriving at the Bethune-area site.
Drivers should expect delays along the route, and even consider choosing an alternate route.
