Horses killed after car accident

The RCMP has located the owner of three horses that died after they were struck by a vehicle on Sunday night near Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation.

According to an RCMP news release, the horses were crossing Highway 212, and the driver of the truck could not avoid them.

The driver and the three passengers in the truck were not hurt. The truck itself was damaged beyond repair.

One of the horses was killed instantly and the other two had to be euthanized at the scene by RCMP.
