Case of man accused of assaulting Marlene Bird back in court
The man accused of violently assaulting Marlene Bird was supposed to have opted for a trial by judge and jury or judge alone at his Friday morning court appearance.
Instead, Leslie Ivan Roderick Black, 29, had his case adjourned by a Prince Albert Provincial Court judge until the end of November.
Black is facing a number of charges, including attempted murder and aggravated sexual assault, in relation to the June 1 incident.
Black was arrested at the end of June, weeks after Bird, 47, was discovered in a parking lot near the Margo Fournier Center.
