St. Mary girls soccer team takes silver at provincials

An impressive season for St. Mary girls’ soccer team ended on a high note at Provincials in Saskatoon over the weekend.

St. Mary took silver at the tournament after a two-game streak where they beat Weyburn 4-0 and Regina’s Campbell Collegiate 3-0 in the semi-finals.

The final game against St. Joseph , the No. 1 seed in Saskatoon, was hard-fought according to head coach Jamie Zurakowski.

However, St. Joseph managed to pull out a 2-1 win over St. Mary.

That loss was one of only two in the season for the young team. Other teams only scored a total of six goals against St. Mary all year.
