Canadian flags stolen in Kamsack
Three Canadian flags were reported stolen from flagpoles around the town of Kamsack last Wednesday, including one flying over the Cenotaph.
Cpl. Evan Gordon with Kamsack RCMP says the other two flags were taken from the Legion Hall and the Town Office. RCMP got the report around noon last Wednesday.
“I think the feeling has been that this sort of thing is not acceptable in our town or in any town across this province or this country,” he said.
Police don’t know exactly when the flags were stolen, but they are looking into possible video surveillance and interviewing people who live around those areas. He says having Canadian flags stolen from the Cenotaph and the Legion just before Remembrance Day hits closer to home.
“Given the events of last week as well, I think the community is concerned about it,” Gordon noted.
