Flags at all of the City of Prince Albert’s buildings will fly at half-mast to honour a soldier killed while he was standing guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
Mayor Greg Dionne said on Thursday that the flags would remain at half-mast until after Cpl. Nathan Cirillo’s funeral. Cirillo was shot twice at point blank range on Wednesday morning by a gunman.
Dionne added that at Monday’s council meeting there will be a moment of silence.
He added that they will be reviewing security at City Hall and the Prince Albert Police Service will have discussions with the armouries.
