Sometimes when I ask clients what they’re using on their skin, they say “Nothing.”
“Nothing?” I persist.
They shrug. “ Water. Soap.”
“Soap? Like, from the soap dish?” I’m smiling. On the outside.
“Yah. I’ve tried lots of stuff. Nothing works.”
Nothing works. Hmm. Here are some other things I have heard when clients talk about their skincare.
“It made me break out.”
“My eyelids were all puffy and swollen!”
“My face was burning and I had to wash it all off.”
Skincare works. For the good or for the bad, it works. You just haven’t found the right stuff yet. Why? Because there is way too much stuff.
Most people buy according to brand name, advertising on TV, or price because they don’t know where to start. Start at Results. Don’t buy for status and fame. Some of the most expensive and most famous brands available have no proven cosmetic ingredients in them. Trust me, I’ve read the labels and I was as shocked as you are.
Look for a brand that is dermatologist formulated. There are many lines that are only dermatologist “recommended” or “approved”. That’s not good enough. A dermatologist created line will have carefully chosen ingredients that are proven effective.
