Police bring in outside help to search for missing man

The Prince Albert Police Service are still looking for a man reported missing over a week ago.

As of Monday, the police have been investigating the timeline surrounding the disappearance of Timothy Charlette, 27. He has not been seen since Oct. 11, and according to past reports he was with Beatrice Adam, 36.

Two kayakers on the North Saskatchewan River discovered Adam’s body on Oct. 12 near Prince Albert.

The Criminal Investigations Division is now involved in the investigation, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Charlette’s disappearance is criminal.

“It’s easier for them to carry that file,” Sgt. Brandon Mudry said. “The Criminal Investigations Division has taken over the file from the patrol officers… just to maintain continuity of it.”

He said the police have used some outside service in the search for Charlette.

While Mudry didn’t elaborate further on what service that is, he said police will tell the public on Tuesday.

“We have to do some updates to the family prior to the release of more information,” Mudry said.

Charlette is described as an aboriginal male, about six feet, four inches tall, and weighing 190 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a camouflage baseball cap, a dark jacket and jeans.

Police are asking that anyone with information about Charlette’s whereabouts to call the police at 953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
