Investigation points to murder-suicide in Unity deaths
An investigation into the deaths of two people near Unity has ended with the cause being murder-suicide.
The investigation first began in early September when the bodies of 56-year-old Shirley Parkinson and 60-year-old Donald Parkinson were discovered in an outbuilding in the RM of Round Valley, 15 kilometres from Unity.
Unity RCMP had been alerted by co-workers of Parkinson, who lived in Unity, that she had not come into work earlier that day.
After the discovery of the bodies an autopsy was scheduled and an investigation into the deaths of the two went underway.
