Oct 14, 2014 | 12:13 PM

An 89-year-old woman had to be extracted from her SUV with the help of emergency responders Tuesday morning after a car crash.

The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and 15th Street.

Fire fighters, paramedics and police were all on scene.

According to one of the people involved in the accident, she was making a turn in her car when the 89-year-old woman in an SUV collided with her.

The SUV ended up on its driver’s side and firefighters had to cut a portion of the roof off of the elderly woman’s vehicle to extract her. She was walking on her own once she was taken out and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.  Parkland Ambulance said she is currently in good condition.

Meanwhile, the woman in the car was assessed by paramedics, but did not need to go to hospital. The front end of her car was damaged.

Police said the incident is still under investigation, but more details will be released Tuesday afternoon.
