A crushing defeat by U of S Huskies

The season opener for both men’s and women’s University of Saskatchewan basketball teams resulted in a crushing defeat against MacEwan University on Friday. 

The U of S Huskies and the MacEwan University Griffins faced off at Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert. 

The night started off with the women’s game, with the U of S Huskies remaining in the lead.  At halftime, Huskies were ahead 48 – 28 and the final score was 87 -50.

Dalyce Emmerson, Prince Albert’s own, said she felt good about the win and being back in Prince Albert for the first time since her first year.

“It’s so nice that they invited us to come play here … that we could come play a team here and get such good support from all the people in P.A,” she said.

The U of S Huskies men’s team were ahead for the game, with the halftime score of 54 – 28 and the final score of 101 – 64.
