Serge Kujawa, crown prosecutor in Thatcher trial, passes away

The former Crown prosecutor in the Colin Thatcher trial died Monday.
Serge Kujawa was most known for his role in Saskatchewan’s biggest murder case in history but he was also an MLA in the 1990s.
Kujawa was part of several high-profile cases in his legal career, including the 1967 Shell Lake Massacre, another massacre leaving seven people dead in Buffalo Narrows in 1969, and the Colin Thatcher trial in 1984.
A memorial service for Kujawa will be held Monday, Sept. 29 at the Regina Funeral Home.
