KidSport thief faces second warrant for arrest

Sep 23, 2014 | 4:44 PM

A man who has already pleaded guilty to stealing more than $5,000 from KidSport in Prince Albert has missed numerous court appearances.

Marvin Moses C. Sanderson’s court worker hadn’t spoken with him for over three months, and on Tuesday a judge issued a bench warrant when Sanderson failed to appear at his sentencing.

The man, in his early 40s, had missed court in the past reportedly because he was in Edmonton for cancer treatment. His court worker, Frank Carriere, said earlier in the year the cancer was terminal.

Sanderson’s sentencing was adjourned in May for several months, so he could make an effort to gather funds to repay the money that was stolen. However, so far that has not happened.
