COUNCIL PREVIEW: Hwy 55 repair agreement could be greenlighted
Prince Albert’s city council is expected to approve a repair agreement with the province to repair the bridge on Highway 55.
Under the agreement the province would fully fund the cost of repairs to the bridge, which is located outside of Little Red River Park. The bridge was damaged by debris that collided with its piles due to high water flows last spring.
The full cost of the repairs is not yet known, but the province has set aside $150,000 for the project. The funding will come from the Urban Highway Connector Fund.
Council is also expected to review a report on the performance of concessions and vending at seven of the City’s venues. The report contained sales and expense results up to the beginning of September and found that profits for all venues combined is 51 per cent off of the full-year target.
