Lloydminster MLA Tim McMillan is stepping away from politics.
On Thursday, the government announced that McMillan has resigned from the legislature effective Sept. 30.
McMillan is joining the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers as its new president. The release indicates McMillan will adhere to the new Saskatchewan Lobbyists Act which prevents former ministers from lobbying the government for one year after leaving.
McMillan is also the minister of rural and remote health. Premier Brad Wall said Health Minister Dustin Duncan will take on those duties for the time being.
