Jul 2, 2014 | 6:44 AM

A 66-year-old woman is recovering in hospital, following an attack on the Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

Marina Henderson was reportedly stabbed and kidnapped on Monday, and her car was stolen.

The incident began early Monday morning. The RCMP was called about an assault that happened on the reserve; but when officers arrived there was no trace of the victim or the vehicle.

“The direction of the vehicle was unknown and police were unable to locate this vehicle,” said Sgt. Al Presler.

Henderson would be located the following day on the Little Red Reserve, along with her vehicle. Police believe the suspects then stole a second vehicle.

The RCMP is seeking Kevin Henderson, 30, of Prince Albert, as well as Shantel Mike, 26, from Beardy's Okemasis First Nation.

Both are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping, robbery, and two counts of stealing a vehicle.

“The police in Waskesiu are requesting that the public not approach the suspects, as they could possibly be armed and dangerous,” said Presler.

Montreal Lake Cree Nation Chief Edward Henderson said Kevin Henderson is the nephew of Marina Henderson.

She was initially sent to Victoria Hospital, but has since been transferred to hospital in Saskatoon.

Sources have told paNOW that she suffered a collapsed lung as a result of the attack.
