Construction of new Ford dealership begins
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new Lakeland Ford facility took place at the dealership’s location on Second Avenue West.
When finished, the $20-million project will replace the current 47-year-old facility, and include a new collision centre south of the city.
The back part of the facility will house a parts department and detail centre. It will be finished in the fall.
“We’ll probably work out of temporary offices in the front of the lot … for six to nine months while we add the showroom component to the front of the building,” said Vaughn Wyant, president and CEO of the Vaughn Wyant Automotive Group.
