VIDEO: Wanted man arrested by Prince Albert Police

Mar 17, 2014 | 5:30 PM

Over a busy weekend, Prince Albert Police managed to arrest a potentially violent offender.

They had previously put out a warning for the public to be on the lookout for Leslie Ashton Halkett, 19.

He was wanted on four counts of a breach of recognizance and it was believed he was in Prince Albert. His previous offenses are violent in nature.

Someone tipped off police to his location at an East Hill home, where he was arrested on Friday.

Vehicles damaged over the weekend

In addition to that arrest, police received complaints of a string of motor vehicle damages over the weekend.

Eight vehicles were damaged and appeared to be targeted by the suspects, said Cst. Brandon Mudry.

While police continue to warn people not to leave valuables in their vehicles, they add these instances didn’t include anyone breaking windows and stealing items in them.

Dog feces popping up

In addition to the snow melt revealing used needles, another unpleasant item is popping up.

Police have received many calls about animal poop accumulating on private property.

They remind the public that under the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw, owners or occupants must not let feces accumulate on private property. If it gets the point that it unreasonably interferes with the use and enjoyment of adjoining premises by owners or occupants, pet owners can face charges of noncompliance.
