Mardi Gras isn’t just confined to New Orleans. The extravagant celebration full of colour, music and food is being experienced in Prince Albert, as well.

On Tuesday night, around 100 people gathered at the St. Joseph Parish Hall to take part in a dinner comprised of crepes, french toast, pancakes, waffles and sausage.

There was also entertainment, games and a silent auction.

The Knights of Columbus hosted the event to raise funds for renovations at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Bishop Albert Thevenot said he was the one who suggested the fundraiser that doubles as a celebration of lent, which takes place Wednesday.

For the past few years, renovations have been ongoing, but have really stepped up in the past six months at the cost of $1 million.

Flooring has just been laid and Thevenot said the renovations should be done by Easter.
