Business of the Day: PA Denture and Implant Solutions

Feb 27, 2014 | 7:58 AM

Making denture patients comfortable is the mission of Kally Braaten and Nathan Hoffer of PA Denture and Implant Solutions.

Few people enjoy dealing with dental issues and the choices and information can be overwhelming, particularly when it comes to dentures and implants. For both new patients and those having had varying degrees of denture work done, there are many questions but even more answers.

With more than 30 years combined experience as licenced denturists — Braaten working for 10 years locally and Hoffer, practising for more than 20 years in Saskatoon — they believe experience, combined with ongoing commitment to keeping up with the latest techniques and technology greatly benefits their patients.

With significant improvements and changes in the field of dentures and implant retained/supported dentures, Braaten and Hoffer know that proper education for clients is key. Working with a full range of dental services: full dentures, partials and implant overdentures, there is an overwhelming amount of information for patients which makes it challenging to make a decision.

“There are so many questions people don’t even know to ask,” said Hoffer. “This is where we can help; by taking a look at their situation and really working with them to make an informed decision while considering their individual needs. We know it is critical to work as a team with the patient, so they can make fully informed decisions before any of the work is done.”

Both Braaten and Hoffer have seen an increase in patients opting for implants. Braaten said that this procedure has been around for more than 30 years but it has become more accepted as the process has been perfected and the costs have decreased significantly.

“We work with dentists and oral surgeons who place the implants,” stressed Braaten.

This new business which just opened in 2014 is ready to see patients who need new dentures as well as those thinking about dentures for the first time. Once the dentures are complete, both Hoffer and Braaten pride themselves on patient aftercare.

“At the end of the day, we just want our patients to have dentures that are comfortable, functional and enhance their quality of life,” he said.
