Montana’s Cookhouse coming to Prince Albert

Oct 30, 2013 | 6:32 AM

Those addicted to ribs, steak and all around grilled food will have a lot to look forward to.

By this time next year, a new Montana’s Cookhouse and Bar franchise will be in Prince Albert.

“Restaurant was something that always interested since the sale of Pines Service Centre and we just decided to go ahead with it when we [saw] the sign go up six blocks from our home, so it seemed to make sense at the time,” said co-owner Devin Panchuk.

Panchuk returned from Toronto on Sept. 17 with the licence, but he isn’t alone in the franchise—it’s a family affair.

“My wife of course is involved with it with me and my brother-in law as well as my sister are going to owners and my brother is going to be a manager as well as myself working daily in the business,” he said.

“We’re told the best recipe for success in the restaurant business is to actually work with family.”

The new restaurant will be located on Second Avenue West on the corner of the South Hill Mall complex.

Panchuk said they will start construction in the spring and open, hopefully, by Oct. 1, 2014.

Not only will the new restaurant bring in western-styled food, but it will also bring jobs to the area.

“We’ll be opening about 90 positions for major manager positions and staffing at all levels in between.”

There are three other Montana’s restaurants in Saskatchewan; two in Saskatoon and one in Regina.
