Accused murderer one step closer to trial

A case of first degree murder is making its way to trial.

Blake David Norman, 22, of Prince Albert who is charged with numerous offences including first degree murder will face a preliminary hearing on April 17 and then a possible pretrial July 8 – 12.

Norman was arrested in November for his alleged involvement in the September death of Dakota Nayneecassum and the attempted murder of Cody Vandal.

Norman has been through the courts before when he pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death for the 2009 apartment fire in La Ronge that claimed the life of a couple and their baby.
