Number of sick doubles at Victoria Hospital
More staff and patients at Victoria hospital have fallen ill with a gastrointestinal illness believed to be Norovirus.
As of 2 p.m. on Thursday the number of affected individuals had climbed to ten which doubled the number of sick from Tuesday afternoon.
The 5 people and 5 staff who fell ill contracted the illness at Victoria hospital said Prince Albert Parkland Health Region communication coordinator Doug Dahl.
The restrictions on the Medical-Palliative care unit where the sickness originated will remain the same. Patient transfers from this unit to long-term care facilities are on hold, but discharges to home care and home, as well as to other acute care facilities will continue. No admissions will be accepted into the unit until the restrictions are lifted.
