Melfort gun incident concludes

A man who was shot by RCMP in Melfort will serve time behind bars.

Joseph Longman, 46, was sentenced to 18 months in custody.

The case goes back to March of last year.

RCMP had been called to a house. There was a report of a domestic dispute involving weapons. Just as the Mounties were arriving, Longman was seen driving away. When police caught up with him, and the vehicle had stopped, Longman emerged carrying a long gun.
