Creators of Clodhoppers speaking in PA

Jul 17, 2012 | 12:02 PM

The two entrepreneurs, Chris Emery and Larry Finnson, who founded Clodhoppers candy, will be speaking in Prince Albert Tuesday night.

The North Central chapter of the Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (SYPE) approached the pair through the National Speakers Bureau.

Jonathan Brandon, provincial and local president of SYPE, said the two are coming to speak with SYPE about their experiences.

“They are going to be talking about their experience with the Dragons’ Den, experience starting their own business with the Clodhoppers, and their transition into the OMG’s, the new line that they started.

“Basically what it took for them to be successful starting their own business from scratch,” said Brandon.

Chris and Larry are two great Canadian entrepreneurs who founded one of Canada’s top ranked candies, Clodhoppers, and have now created a new brand of candy called OMG’s.

The two have appeared in media and other publications like CNN, Fortune small business magazine, and even appeared on CBC’s Dragons’ Den.

The two are also known to give humorous and inspiring presentations.

“We think it’s important to bring in people that are successful in their fields just to show entrepreneurs, that you know, if you stick with it there is a way and kind of get some ideas and share their talent and experiences,” Brandon continued.

Larry and Chris have been recognized for their sales and marketing techniques by CBC’s Venture, CNN’s Mavericks of the Morning, and again in Fortune’s small business magazine.

In 2006 Clodhoppers were sold to Brookside Foods as a leading Canadian Chocolate manufacturer.

The presentation is at Prince Albert’s Exhibition Centre tonight at 7 p.m.

The presentation is free of charge, but seating is limited, to book seats call Jonathan at 960-8286.
