Penguins’ captain Crosby has vertebrae abnormalities

Reports have emerged that Pittsburgh Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby may be dealing with something more serious than a concussion.

The word is that an MRI this week revealed an abnormality in his C1 and C2 vertebraes.

Crosby went to a Utah doctor on the recommendation of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and is scheduled to meet with his doctors again later this week to discuss his recovery.

The Penguins have confirmed the reports on their website, but state that the neck injury is fully healed.
