Province issue green water warning

Aug 12, 2011 | 9:08 PM

The Ministries of Environment, Health and the Saskatchewan watershed authority are warning people about green water.

Specifically, water where blue-green algae blooms are giving the water a pea-soup appearance where it's blue-green, bright blue, grey or tan in colour.

Swimming or drinking affected waters can cause red skin, sore throat, cramps or diarrhea.

These blooms usually happen during calm hot weather in shallow, slow moving or still lakes and reservoirs.
