Saskatoon’s River Landing project expands

Aug 11, 2011 | 6:20 PM

Saskatoon’s River Landing project is expanding in both investors and the size of planned buildings.

Victory Majors Investments Corporation has announced that it is bringing Tonko Realty Advisors Ltd. and Cavalier Enterprises Ltd. on to its development team for the condo, hotel and retail complex.

But it isn't only new investors, there is a new plan.

Kay Nasser with Victory Majors Investments Corporation says the plaza area of the project is expanding and will be at ground-level instead of raised.

“When we looked into that with the architect they said we can put the plaza right on grade, which is very valuable. That makes the plaza accessible to everyone.”

The plaza will cover nearly half of the total lot at River Landing. There will also be a large pool in the centre. It will have fountains in the summer which can be a skating rink in the winter.

The buildings around the plaza will also be taller. Those include a 10-storey hotel, 27-storey condo and a 17-storey office tower.
