Vehicle found near Herschel in search for missing woman Carol King

An aerial search into the disappearance of Carol King found a vehicle in a slough northeast of Herschel.

The RCMP in Rosetown can't say what type of vehicle it is or how it ended up on the water.

Forty-year-old King has not been seen since Saturday. Police have also been looking for a grey, 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, with Saskatchewan license plate 560 GZX in their search for King.

Her sister, Brenda King, said she is baffled by the disappearance. She notified the RCMP after being unable to get a hold of her sister by phone.

Carol King is originally from Newfoundland, but moved to a farmhouse near Rosetown three years ago for work. Her sister just recently came from Halifax to be close to the search efforts.

An underwater recovery team has been called in to help with the investigation as well as to recover the vehicle found in the slough. A police dog as well as the forensic identification section is also assisting.
