Music in the Museum
Music in the Museum
The Prince Albert Historical Museum has a wide variety of musical instruments and playing devices. Come explore the beauty of musical history with cylinder players, record players, early radios, recording machines, and a gramophone that still works!
Also take a look at the early musical instruments used by the Prince Albert City Band including a baritone from 1880, a trombone and case from 1900, and a sousaphone!
The Prince Albert City Band began in 1883 and practiced in the basement of the old fire hall once it was built in 1912 (now the Prince Albert Historical Museum) for many years. The City Band still exits, but is totally volunteer and self-funded.
