Ricky's A's capture their second straight Sportsman's League City Senior Men's Fastball Championship

On Monday evening at Prime Ministers' Park the Ricky's A's men’s fastball team captured their second straight Sportsman's League Championship with a 6-3 win over R & W Custom Collision.

The Ricky's A's only one game during the regular season and won four straight playoffs games to capture the Championship.

The A's did what they do best on Monday night, playing superb defense and getting some clutch hits along with another dominate pitching performance from the A's long time player/coach Kim Dryka.

Dryka pitched seven strong innings in what was his league leading 17th win of the season. Kalen Wright's two out double in the bottom of the fifth inning scored two runs and broke the 3-3 tie. The A's never looked back getting one more insurance run in the bottom of the 6th and holding off a late surge by R & W in the bottom of the seventh.

The Championship team consists of infielders Kim Dryka, Curtis Mugford, Kelly Guard, Tanner Shultz, Jess Harnett, Chris Wilson and outfielders Mike Kalika, Andrew Georgeson, and Kalen Wright. The team also carries several alternates including veteran slugger Rick Schultz, Marcus Halcro, Chris Kinch, Rodney Bilodeau, Brad Doetzel, Danny Guard and Chad Basaraba. Ricky's All Day Grill has been the team's main sponsor for the past 2 seasons.
