City of Regina eases water restrictions

There's some good news when it comes to water restrictions in Regina, Moose Jaw and surrounding communities.

After a meeting Monday morning, the City of Regina announced that restrictions have been eased.

That means, if you need to, you can water the lawn, but the City asks that it be done in the early morning or in the evening to minimize water wastage.

They are still asking to think twice before doing something like washing the car.

Using less water right now will still ease demand on the system and ensure that reservoirs remain full.

On Friday night, the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant was shut down when a storm cut power to the plant. A temporary solution using a generator was put in place Sunday morning.

Work continues to fix the problem permanently, but there's still no time line for that to happen.
