Storm claims starting to add up

Insurance claims continue to come in one week after two storms pounded the region with hail, rain and high winds, said SGI.

The crown insurer has received 1,500 auto and 400 property claims from the hail storm in Waskesiu and the damaging winds that blew through the Lakeland area the night of July 18.

It’s a really busy time, we’re still getting caught up from the July 3 hailstorm in Regina, said Kelly Brinkworth spokeswoman, who explained people can expect delays getting their claims processed.

“We encourage people to report claims as soon as possible, but they have up to two years to have their vehicle repaired,” Brinkworth said.
