SGI reached tentative deal with employees

Jul 27, 2011 | 12:29 PM

Another Saskatchewan labour disruption could soon be resolved.

The union representing SGI employees that have been refusing overtime has struck a deal with the Crown Corporation.

It's a four year deal that expires at the end of 2013. If it's ratified, employees will see a 5.5 per cent wage increase over three years, with an additional two per cent in the fourth year.

In a release, the union said it will tour the province with ballots between Aug. 3 and Aug. 22. The ballots will be counted on Aug. 29.
