Three arrested in Regina drug bust

Three people have been arrested following a drug bust on a Regina home on the 1200 block of Broad Street North.

Sergeant Peter Trottier with the Regina Integrated Proceeds of Crime Unit said police discovered a growing operation capable of producing 100 pounds of marijuana a year — a lot for an urban set up.

In a related search, police seized 35 pounds of marijuana as well as $30,000 in cash, $20,000 worth of high-end purchases and three vehicles related to these offenses from a home on Dixon Crescent.

Trottier says that the investigation stretched all the way to Calgary.

Residents living near the grow op are shocked, saying the area is usually free from crime.

Neighbours had no idea the grow op existed until an RCMP search last week. They say a police officer even lives a few doors down.

Uplands residents say the house at 1226 Broad Street North was bought a couple months ago.

Ever since, there has been little activity around the place.
