Man sentenced in RCMP assault case

A man involved in a shooting incident with the RCMP back in 2008 was sentenced on today in a North Battleford court.

Serge Charette pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with a weapon, and one count of dangerous driving.

Charette has been ordered to serve a 12-month suspended sentence, and has received a 10-year firearm ban as well.

In July 2008, Charette was seen driving erratically in Spiritwood when the RCMP attempted to stop him he rammed into the police car.
