Chief Lonechild centre of legal controversy
The Chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations promises impeachment efforts could result in serious legal action.
Guy Lonechild’s warning comes in a seven page letter after Chiefs at the FSIN spring assembly recently voted to make changes to the Executive Act – changes that indicate a closed session vote of 50 per cent plus one of those chiefs in attendance can bring about a vote of non-confidence.
The embattled leader promises that there will be consequences if the impeachment process is pushed forward.
“There would be serious financial and legal liabilities put on the organization,” says Lonechild.
