New Chamber CEO announced

Jul 21, 2011 | 4:28 PM

Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce’s new CEO started work today.

“I look forward to working with the board and the directors and moving the chamber of commerce and working on those good things they’ve been working on up to now,” said Perry Trusty, on his new role.

Trusty is familiar to people in Melfort, as he was their community development manager for a number of years, and last year he was presented with the award for 2010 Saskatchewan Economic Developer.

He said he feels honoured and privileged to be offered the CEO position in Prince Albert.

“I hope we can continue to grow the Prince Albert economy and advocate for business issues and continue with chamber events,” Trusty said.

“I have a lot of background in the region and the economy,”

He was born and raised on a farm in Canwood, graduated from Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert, earned a degree from the University of Saskatchewan, worked in Prince Albert media and economic development.

Trusty takes over for Bergen Price, who resigned to take a job in B.C.
