Weekend temperatures in Saskatchewan are forecasted to hover around the 30 C mark, prompting one of the province's top doctors to issue a warning about the dangers of too much sun.

Dr. Maurice Hennick, Saskatchewan's deputy chief medical health officer, said heat stroke can happen before you realize it; causing nausea, headaches, vomiting and more.

Hennick said people should not stay in the sun for too long, and do whatever possible to stay cool.

“Keep the house and home as cool as possible. Have cold meals. Go to cooler places such as malls and libraries if you don’t have the privilege of air conditioning,” said Hennick.
