RCMP officer charged with driving impaired

A member of the Battlefords RCMP has been charged with impaired driving.

On July 3, at about 12:45 a.m. RCMP were called to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in North Battleford.

Members from the North Battleford RCMP attended to the scene and began an impaired driving investigation.

That investigation resulted in 32-year-old Tyson Drabinasty being charged with impaired driving.

Drabinasty is a member of the Battlefords RCMP but was off duty at the time the alleged offence.

Injuries to the pedestrian were minor.

Drabinasty will be in North Battleford court on Aug. 15 to answer to the charges.

A code of conduct is being ordered in relation to the member.
