Road closures and detours this week

Jul 12, 2011 | 6:40 AM

The City of Prince Albert is advising bus riders and motorists of road closures and detours over the next few days.

22nd Street West

On Tuesday morning, 22nd Street West at Fifth Avenue will be closed around nine. The city expects to have work done and the road reopened by late Wednesday.

The West Flat bus will be detoured to Fourth Avenue West from 15th Street.

22nd Street East

Starting Wednesday at 9 a.m., 22nd Street East will be closed between Fifth Avenue and busy Sixth Avenue.

The closure is for a service installation at the new Petro Can going up on the corner.

On Thursday, Sixth Avenue will also see some lane restriction in the work area — two-way traffic on Sixth Avenue will still be able to get through.

The city hopes to have this project wrapped up on Friday.

In the meantime, the East Hill bus will be detoured to Fifth Avenue and the bus stop at the KFC will be closed during the construction.

Second Avenue West

On Wednesday at 9 a.m., the inside lanes of Second Avenue West from 17th to 22nd Street will be closed. The work is expected to be finished by 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will still be able to get through.
