About 60 per cent of all new home construction in Saskatchewan is happening in Saskatoon.
Work began on 370 new houses in the city last month, 53 per cent above the June 2010 average.
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's Michael Fabiyi says year-to-date is even more impressive.
“So far this year to the end of June we’ve seen 1,496 housing starts in Saskatoon. This is up about 51 per cent from 989 housing starts that we saw at the same time last year,” said Fabiyi.
