Summertime fun

It was a busy weekend with provincial parks hosting a variety of events.

Friday was the Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs program at Murray Point Campground at the Emma Lake Recreation Site for 17 children ranging in ages from 5-12.

The program promotes fishing as an alternative to other activities that kids can get hooked on.

Ministry of Environment Conservation officers from Candle Lake and Christopher Lake districts offered the program in conjunction with Saskatchewan Parks.

Then on Sunday afternoon, Saskatchewan Express performed at Candle Lake Provincial Park for a crowd of approximately 300.

There was rain and performers had to take a short break, but thanks to the performers for persevering through the showers to entertain the crowd despite the conditions.
