Paying more to get rid of junk

The cost to use the city landfill is on the rise.
The minimum per load fee will increase from $5 to $7.50.
The per ton rate goes up from $42 to $50 dollars this year. The rate will increase by one dollar per year from 2012 to 2015.
All material entering the landfill from municipalities that are not members of the North Saskatchewan Waste Management Corporation will pay double the posted rates.
The city says the additional cost is necessary to offset upcoming capital costs and deal with an increase inflow of waste.
