Public funds will be handled more carefully, pledges Sask. government

Saskatchewan Advanced Education Minister Rob Norris says he was “too trusting” and didn't take enough time to look into irregularities of the proposed St. Peter's College and Carlton Trail Regional College merger.

Norris’ comments come after an audit of St. Peter’s College turned up irregularities in the educational institution’s finances.

The irregularities were discovered before the merger could take place.

St. Peter's College is now on probation when it comes to public funding. For the time being the University of Saskatchewan will oversee funding for the school.
