Saskatchewan farmers affected by floods want greater compensation

While the government has announced higher crop insurance payments, farmers in Saskatchewan’s flooded southeast search for great compensation.

The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) held meetings on the matter, Tuesday.

APAS President Greg Marshall insists the province needs to step up and offer AgriRecovery funding to producers.

“The governments have taken the approach that they have got to wait and see. I think we as farmers realize that we are not going to grow a crop on these acres that are flooded out this year and we need adequate compensation,” said Marshall.
