Mosquito numbers are up in Regina and the drier weather may not necessarily help the situation.
Wade Morrow, pest manager for the City of Regina, points to all the standing water around the city but says the coming warm weather is a good news, bad news situation.
“The warmer weather will help dry up sites and that’s a good thing. We need warm dry weather. The down side of it is that warmer temperatures, means mosquitoes. They can go from egg to adult in as little as five to seven days as opposed to it taking two or three weeks,” explained Morrow.
Last week, 323 mosquitoes were caught in the city's monitoring traps.
