Rafferty and Boundary Dam levels drop as Qu’Appelle’s rise
As levels continue to drop in the Rafferty and Boundary Dams, levels are rising in the Qu'Appelle system.
High flows in the Moose Jaw River have been backing water up over Buffalo Pound Dam which in turn has been pushing levels up in the Qu'Appelle system.
“It’s up about 0.3 meters at the moment so that’s about a foot higher,” explained Saskatchewan Watershed Authority’s Dale Hjertaas of how much the lake has risen.
He said they are keeping a watchful eye on those levels as they are higher than they'd like, but residents don’t need to be alarmed by these levels. He added the levels are not as high as what they saw in the spring.
