Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud says crop insurance will help out struggling farmers who's land has been flooded in the southeast.
“There is a number of them in that area that have unseeded acres. Some of them have hardly got any crop, if any, and we have upped that coverage from $50 to $70 per eligible acre,” said Bjornerud.
Bjornerud is talking with the Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz to see what more can be done to help Saskatchewan farmers.
Bjornerud says the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Coporation workers strike has complicated things.
