Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation employees strike
Jun 21, 2011 | 4:06 PM
Another strike in Saskatchewan as 470 workers at the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) walked off the job around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The employees belong to the Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union (SGEU).
SCIC workers have been without a contract since September 2009.
The government is offering a five per cent pay increase over three years but the union says that doesn't even keep up with inflation. They are looking for a 7.75 per cent pay hike over the same three years.
